What is the best way to learn to speak Finnish fluently?

I'm interested in learning Finnish, but I'm not in school and formal cles never worked for me in the past (I was taking German for two years in a clroom environment, and though I speak the language to some extent, I don't feel I ever progressed sufficiently in the clroom). I've looked somewhat into the Finnish language over the internet, and have decided it that I really would like to learn to speak it. I'm just wondering, for those who know the language already, or have learned similar languages, what the best way would be for me to go about by learning it — outside of a formal, clroom environment. In other words, if there is a website or a book; something that will help me to learn the language independently. Thanks.
