I had a question about joules of energy?

I have a question that asks how many joules of energy must be removed from 126g of water at 24C to form ice at 0C? I just don't understand how to do it. I know that the answer is 5.5 x 10^4. Shouldn't I use the equation m x (sp ht) x (change in T)?
